Matt Dempsey is a director working between Sydney & London.
From an early age, Matt became enamoured with filmmaking and sought to learn everything he could, transitioning from post-production to directing & cinematography - learning all facets of production along the way.
With his variety of skills across filmmaking, Matt has defined his style by toeing the line between visual and narrative storytelling that resonates with the audience to the point where they feel impelled to engage. He has a unique approach, capturing emotion in real-life stories and because of his self-shooting abilities is able to bring a cinematic aesthetic to all of his work.
His work plays within the field of documentary, sport & lifestyle and he has worked extensively for some of the world’s leading brands such as Nike, Qantas & Porsche.
Matt recently was a finalist for the Shiny Best Emerging Director Award
